Andy is doing the Undy

I'm embarking on one of the most mad cap things I have ever done.

I'm participating in a Top Gear type challenge called “The Undy 500 Arctic Challenge 2013”

The idea is to buy a car for less that £500 (Undy 500) and drive it from Ipswich to Helsinki in 5 days all for charity.

Back in July I bought a 13 year old Saab off E-Bay for £480. It's done 165,000 miles and drives like a 3 piece suite.

My son and I are one of of 7 teams participating in the challenge and we are driving under the team name Wing and a Prayer.

Our route takes us to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Lulea (Northern Sweden) and hopefully ending up in Helsinki where the majority of the cars are being recycled and the money raised is being ploughed back into the charity pot.

We are raising money for 2 brilliant causes, The East Anglian Air Ambulance & St Elizabeth Hospice. If you feel inclined you can make a donation here charity fund raising page

I've been keeping a blog of the adventure so far and will be posting to the blog during the trip. Undy 500 blog 

All of the teams are responsible for arranging the “entertainment” for one of the nights we are away. I've been allocated Copenhagen!!
