Beer sends us hopping mad!
The Great British Beer festival hosted by CAMRA
“The 12th – 16th August saw the return of the Great British Beer festival hosted by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale. 55,000 people enjoyed a slurp or two attended the event, which featured over 900 real ales, ciders, perries and foreign beers.
“But it’s not just about the amber nectar! The festival, and many other local CAMRA events that will be running across the UK, celebrate the unstoppable rise of independent brewing and the small microbrewery enterprises that is taking the UK by storm. Just last year, nearly 200 microbreweries opened their doors, and this figure continues to rise.
“Smaller, independent breweries have definitely caught the market’s attention with local and quirky offerings. The UK now boasts over a thousand microbreweries, whose products are brimming with innovative flavours and infusing new life into traditional beverages.“But whilst the pints of success keep on flowing for microbreweries, in the other cask of ale, large commercial breweries are experiencing a slump. This has prompted many of them to seek new and creative ways to revive their business, branching out into other areas and looking to adopt the winning formula that is making microbreweries such a success.
“That’s where we come in. Here at Russell Scanlan, we’re committed to supporting small business, and giving them the head start they need. We recognised a while back that there was a huge ‘hopportunity’ in the marketplace for microbreweries, and that’s why we have developed our bespoke ‘Masterbrew’ insurance programme. Over the years, it’s proved to be a winning formula for some of the UKs most eminent microbreweries.
“We’re an associate member of The Society of Independent Brewers, which doesn’t mean we just enjoy a good pint every now and again. It means that we really know your business, and can incorporate the most suitable brewing industry innovations and extensions on tap within one comprehensive policy.
