General knowledge and green fingers – all for a good cause!
The team here has chosen to support Nottinghamshire Hospice this year as Russell Scanlan’s nominated charity; and we’re very much looking forward to taking part in a number of fun-filled activities to raise money for this extremely worthwhile cause.
Over the coming months, we’ll be busting our brain cells at our annual quiz night, getting green fingered at the Hospice’s garden, and encouraging our business contacts to get involved in their annual ball. And that’s not all! Plans are also afoot to take part in various sporting events – including a run with Andy Wallis, dubbed the Charity’s ‘running man,’ who’s pledged to do 5k every day for a whole year.
“We’re extremely proud of our heritage as the largest independent insurance broking and risk managing firm in Nottingham, having been around for over 130 years,” explained Mike Dickinson, Russell Scanlan’s Development Director. “But we’re only as successful as the communities in which we operate.
“That’s why we aim to support one specific cause annually that’s local and close to our hearts. Nottinghamshire Hospice does an amazing job of adding value to the lives of local families affected by terminal or life-limiting illness. So we’re delighted to be digging deep to help their team of committed staff as they continue to provide a compassionate and valuable service to those who really need it.”
Holly Swinckels, Fundraising Development Manager at Nottinghamshire Hospice, commented: “The service we provide very much relies on corporate support so we’re thrilled that Russell Scanlan is gearing up to make a valuable contribution to our work. We’re working closely with the team to encourage and enthuse them to get involved and dig deep.”http://www.nottshospice.org/
