Henson & Co in new hands

Russell Scanlan, along with financial advisors Russell Ulyatt, has acquired Henson & Co in West Bridgford for an undisclosed sum.

Russell Scanlan has secured the personal, commercial and general insurance lines.

The acquisition came about due to the imminent retirement of Henson & Co’s Managing Director, Colin Henson. He was keen to sell the business, and a joint bid from Russell Scanlan and Russell Ulyatt was accepted on the basis the firm would be passed on intact.

As Russell Scanlan’s Managing Director Bryan Banbury explained: “In today’s economic climate, and in the financial services sector in particular, it’s very rare that a company isn’t broken down into its many smaller constituent parts before being sold off. So for just two companies to buy a whole business means the integrity of Henson and Co’s relationships with its clients will remain secure.

We’re extremely pleased to have been able to secure this deal as we continue to implement our growth strategy to build out client base. The whole team is very much looking forward to getting to know Henson and Co’s clients, providing a seamless service that will meet their insurance needs going forward.
