The show must go on – Nottingham Playhouse

As part of our commitment to supporting the local community as well as the thriving arts and cultural scene that the City has to offer, we’re once again providing financial backing to Nottingham Playhouse as a business sponsor.

This comes at a crucial time when the Playhouse has been subject to local authority funding cuts, and so the news has been welcomed by the theatre’s Fundraising and Development Manager Nick Lawford.

He said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Russell Scanlan, which has worked closely with us over many years. Their contribution – along with that of all our business and corporate sponsors – has been invaluable.

“Without it, we wouldn’t be able to offer first class theatre or the interactive educational and community programmes that we’re so proud to deliver today. On behalf of Nottingham Playhouse, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Russell Scanlan for their ongoing support.”

The Playhouse, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, has created some renowned productions over the years. The theatre prides itself on delivering show-stopping performances and hit productions, such as The Kite Runner which will return to the Playhouse stage in August following last year’s box office hit.

1984, a Nottingham Playhouse production in partnership with Headlong, will also open in London’s West End this month, and was recently nominated for a prestigious Olivier award.
