Showing our Support this Christmas

At Russell Scanlan, supporting local charities and community groups and the vital work that they do is incredibly important to the business and the team. Sadly, 2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for many charities as the impact of COVID-19 on fundraising efforts has meant that essential services provided are at risk.

This year, on top of our usual Charity of The Year donations, and instead of producing our usual annual calendar (sorry to those who are already asking where it is!) we decided to give back to another incredible organisation.

So, we have donated directly to local children’s charity, When You Wish Upon a Star. This amazing organisation, founded in Nottingham, has a simple mission, to grant the wishes of children living with a life-threatening illness. Since the charity was founded in 1990, over 17,500 wishes have been made a reality for children all over the UK.

Alexa Wigfield, Regional Fundraiser at When You Wish Upon a Star, said: “We are extremely grateful to receive this generous donation from Russel Scanlan. This year has been a difficult time for us, like many charities suffering right now. Sadly, we have over 150 wishes on hold due to the impact of COVID-19. Yet with support from donations, we can continue to grant magical wishes for the children.”
