Nottingham’s largest independent insurance broker, Russell Scanlan, has been quick to re-sign as sponsor of Nottingham Playhouse for the 15th year running, making the company the theatre’s longest standing supporter.

Russell Scanlan, based at Wellington Circus in the city centre, first chose to sponsor the theatre in 2002, after providing it with specialist insurance for many years through its expert services for heritage and cultural venues. The team have since built a strong partnership with Nottingham Playhouse and its events team, working closely to support a number of important and influential dance and drama productions.

Stephanie Sirr, CEO at Nottingham Playhouse said: “Nottingham Playhouse has worked closely with Russell Scanlan for well over a decade. They’re not only our insurance brokers, but our neighbours and a highly-valued sponsor of our ground-breaking Made in Nottingham drama.

“We hope to work in partnership with Russell Scanlan for many years to come.”

Russell Scanlan works with a range of theatres and museums across Nottingham and the UK to design bespoke insurance packages for their specific requirements.

Bryan Banbury, Managing Director at Russell Scanlan, said: “We’ve been established in Nottingham for over 130 years, so working together with local organisations that serve our wider communities is at the heart of our values and key to the way we work. We’re delighted to be celebrating our 15th year of sponsorship for Nottingham Playhouse, it’s a truly unique venue that has helped to bring international recognition to our city and raise the profile of acting talent in the East Midlands.

“Through our sponsorship, we’ve been lucky enough to experience many of the excellent performances put on by the theatre, showcasing the talent of arts organisations from across the region. We look forward to working closely with Nottingham Playhouse again this year to further support the local theatre community.”

Russell Scanlan’s commitment to the local business and wider community is reflected in its broad variety of sponsorships and charitable projects undertaken over the years. Together with its sponsorship of Nottingham Playhouse, the company has recently chosen to support local sporting events, Trent Bridge, business networking groups and charities such as MySight, Help a Nottinghamshire Child and The Nottingham Stroke Club.
