BT Redcare Announcement
From 01 August 2025, BT will cease the operations of its Redcare security system.
It is estimated that over 100,000 homeowners and businesses will be affected by the decision.
What does this mean for you?
The most significant implication is that BT Redcare’s monitoring services will no longer be in operation. These services connect your alarm system to a central monitoring station, which dispatches emergency services when triggered. With BT Redcare shutting down, this link will cease to exist from 01 August 2025.
Timeline
- No New Orders: Since 01 February 2024, BT Redcare has stopped accepting new service orders.
- Help Until Closing: Existing customers will continue to receive support until 01 August 2025.
- Finding an Alternative: BT advises users to find a new security system provider before the closure date.
Replacement
A replacement system must be in place by 01 August 2025 to ensure that your insurance policy is valid. However, Redcare customers are advised to act sooner rather than later to avoid potential delays to installations from alternative providers and product shortages as the deadline approaches.
Please Note
Replacement alarm systems must be like-for-like and meet the performance requirements set out by insurers. As your insurance broker, we will advise on which systems will be accepted.
