An Egg-cellent Charity Cheque Presentation
We’ve presented a fantastic total of £2,000 to our chosen charity of 2018, Forget-Me-Notts, the UK-based project of Operation Orphan which helps vulnerable children across the East Midlands.
We delivered a cheque to the charity’s office in Attenborough along with dozens of Easter Eggs to be gifted to children – Forget-Me-Notts collects chocolate gifts for children at Easter and Christmas, and for many it is the only gift they will receive. We raised the money during our famous annual charity quiz at Trent Bridge in November. As well as fundraising through tickets and a bottle tombola, attendees also donated an impressive 91 chocolate selection boxes.
Forget-Me-Notts delivers targeted help to ‘at risk’ children across the East Midlands, in many cases helping to prevent them from being taken into care. This includes donations of practical items such as clothing, homeware and bedding.
Mike Dickinson, our Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Forget-Me-Notts is a brilliant charity which carries out vital work in supporting vulnerable children in the East Midlands. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to raise a significant sum towards providing more support, as well as many Christmas and Easter presents. I’d like to say a big thank you to our staff and the many local businesses who have shown their support for our fundraising efforts.”
Brad Moore, Managing Director of Operation Orphan, said: “The help we’ve received from Russell Scanlan is absolutely terrific and will go a long way in supporting our Forget-Me-Notts project. It’s so great to have local companies and individuals helping us to meet the needs of vulnerable children living in their area. With 100 per cent of the money raised going towards helping children, every penny will make an impact.”
