Cyber Accreditation Tool Offer for SMEs
With cyberattacks becomingly more costly and targeted, we’re working with Berea to offer SMEs five free subscriptions to Cyber AMI, a new must-have tool in protecting their business from cyber threats. Further subscriptions are available at a discounted rate.
Cyber AMI is a web-based business app to help small businesses obtain and maintain compliance with Cyber Essentials, the government’s risk management specification for cyber threats. Widely considered to be the minimum benchmark for cyber security, compliance with the Cyber Essentials scheme can reduce the risk of threats from the internet by 70-80%. Businesses can obtain an official Cyber Essentials certification to demonstrate compliance, which is increasingly demanded in both public and private sector contracts. Legal practices that are Lexcel or Conveyancing Quality Scheme accredited should also hold Cyber Essentials accreditation.
We’re offering businesses a subscription to Cyber AMI which will manage the annual Cyber Essentials certification process for you. Allowing you to progress at your own pace, it provides a modular assessment and education support journey, designed to guide the non-technical laymen through Cyber Essentials in plain English. It enables businesses to implement better risk management practices without the expense of a consultant, whom now often charge in excess of £1000 per day.
Our Managing Director, Bryan Banbury, said: “Cybercrime continues to be a major concern for businesses and shows no signs of abating. The MORI Cyber Security Breaches Survey found that four in ten businesses had experienced a cyber-attack in the last year. The impact of such an attack on an organisation is far reaching – from business interruption and fines, to loss of customer data and damage to a company’s reputation.
“SMEs are also finding themselves under increasing pressure to protect themselves from cyberattacks to mitigate the risk of being excluded from supply chains. Enterprises at the top of a supply chain will more and more require certification proof of security and compliance, or will want contractual warrants as protection for themselves. Larger organisations will choose to use only those suppliers that are certified as part of their due diligence and selection process. For example, the Cyber Essentials certification is already a mandatory requirement for any HS2 sub-contractor who handles building information modelling (BIM) or Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
“The Cyber AMI app offers a straightforward and easy way to manage the whole Cyber Essentials accreditation process with no jargon, hassle or fuss. The subscription normally costs £300 but we have five licensees available which we are offering to SMEs as part of our cyber protection support.”
In a rapidly evolving landscape of cyber threats, cyber security policies are now an essential need. We offer a range of policies tailored to your business needs. Bryan added: “We can highlight emerging risks and construct policies that can evolve with those risks. Policies can also offer protection for directors and the business, allowing the running of the business to continue, and we can build in additional support from selected insurers and other specialist firms, which offer forensic services, remediation support, legal and PR advice to deal with any cyber issues. One of the greatest benefits of a bespoke cyber policy is that it can come with access to a 24/7 breach response team, to help contain and deal with the immediate fallout from an attack.”
